Khao Lak Shopping
Khao Lak is a small town, however it offers a nice variety of shopping opportunities. There are pharmacies, tailor shops and souvenirs shops in town. The Nangthong area has retail shops and supermarkets with both Thai and Western food. You can try Nangthong Supermarket or the new Mother Marche which is in Khuk Kak, near Rawai Muay Thai. In the evenings, stroll around food stalls of the night markets. There are two night markets in Khao Lak: Bang Niang Market and Build Market. Bang Niang Market is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Build market is open on the other days, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
For the early risers, the morning market in Bang Niang is the place to go. It opens at 6:00 am and is a lively place where all the locals get the fresh produce. It is located next to a football field and there are small general stores all around. And lets not forget the 7/11 stores which is everywhere in Thailand. Khao Lak is no exception. There seems to be one one every corner. They are popular because you can find most anything you need, at a cheap price and they are open 24 hours. Most 7/11 stores have ATM machines, as well.
