Muay Thai Camps in Khao Lak
Looking for a good Muay Thai camp in Khao Lak? There are three Muay Thai schools/camps in Khao Lak. A small gym called Jaroenthong near the Briza hotel in Khao Lak Beach. Then there is Combat 360 with a small gym in Khuk Kak. They specialize in MMA. But the largest and most established Muay Thai camp in KHao Lak is Rawai Muay Thai.
Rawai Muay Thai
Rawai Muay Thai offers 100% authentic Muay Thai training. We are not a large “factory style” gym. By staying small we offer personal attention to all of our students. When you come to class the trainers get to know you and with time, you start to feel like part of our family. This is what sets us apart from other gyms. The owner of the camp, Tuk, grew up fighting in Bangkok and all around Thailand. He learnt his skills from grand masters and champions. Now he passes on that knowledge to our students. He follows the traditional methods of teaching, paying close attention to correct technique.
Muay Thai Classes
The Muay Thai training at Rawai Muay Thai Gym focuses on the fundamental fighting techniques including punching, kicking, knees, elbows, clinching, combinations, sparring, Wai Kru, fitness and conditioning. Once a week we also focus on Western boxing and Muay Boran (ancient style of fighting).
We accept people of all levels, from complete beginners to professional fighters. The local professional fighters train alongside the rest of the students. It’s exciting to watch these gifted athletes doing their thing. People who want to train with them can ask to join the fighter training. This is for students who want to fight professionally. Please contact Tuk or Fin to join the fighter training.
Group Classes
Each group class has between 10-15 trainers supervising to make sure that all students get the needed attention to learn the proper technique and get the most out of each class. The group classes last about 2 hours each. Every group class includes:
- Running
- Shadow Boxing
- Bag Work
- Kicking Pads with a trainer
- Technique
- stretching & cool down
